Full form of CCIE – Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert

CCIE Certification can be earned by giving CCIE Written exam and CCIE Lab Exam since 1993 CCIE Exam still stands out as one of the toughest IT Certification exams across the globe. CCENT is the first Cisco exam you can take that is the ICND1(100-105) when you take this exam you have the CCENT certification, and now to become a CCNA certified when you can take ICND2 (200-105) and pass it. Even you can directly attempt CCNA R&S Exam i.e. 200-125 and later move to other certifications.

How to become CCIE Certified Engineer?

Now that we have understood What is CCIE, its time to understand how to earn the CCIE Certification tag which the hottest certification in 2018. Becoming a CCIE Engineer is not only about reading a book, mugging up few concepts and taking an exam and getting certified. It takes a lot of hard work, patience and practical understanding of physical devices as per the track you choose like routers, switches, firewalls, network protocols, collaboration hardware and other basic hardware and commands used to configure that hardware. You must know how to design the topology or the network, and that too a perfect one. This is one of the main reason hardly 58000 CCIE Certified engineers exists across the world, though this certification is around for last 25 years.

What needs to be done in order to become a CCIE Certified Engineer?

A) Right guidance – You can refer to an instructor online/offline, make him your guru. Make sure he/she is the one who has him/herself taken the exam, certified, have the capability to guide you.

You can also refer to training institutes with actual and real track record of students qualifying CCIE certification exams. Make a thorough research about them using your analytics.

B) Investment – Now a day’s investment is only seen as a money investment, however, this certification needs something bigger than money. It is TIME. Your precious TIME. You need to invest a lot of time in understanding the concept, working on real physical Cisco’s hardware (if required during lab exam in your track). You need to understand clearly that it is really going to take time to learn, understand and implement the concepts. Usually, people take 6-7 months to learn CCNA, then CCNP and then CCIE courseware(certifications time not included) and then another 2-3 month in preparing solely for the exam. So as said, it might take a year to prepare for CCIE Certification exams.

Now money is also a big investment factor here, CCIE certification exam fees in itself is 2000 USD as of March 2018, which is a significant amount for developing countries students. It is really a big deal when you start your Cisco Certification career and want to aim for CCIE Certification.

C) Take no shortcut – We have seen a lot of people going after lab solutions or dumps to clear CCIE Lab exam and they are the ones to fail too most of the time, lucky ones do get certified but with less knowledge and ones they enter industry, people get to know easily how they have cleared the exams by judging their network management capabilities.
